Moore’s all done: court

- Christopher Brennan and Denis Slattery

PLEASE, no Moore.

An Alabama judge on Thursday denied Roy Moore’s lastminute attempt to delay his opponent from being certified as the state’s next senator.

The firebrand jurist filed a lawsuit Wednesday in the Circuit Court of Montgomery County, Ala., calling for an investigation into claims of possible voter fraud. Judge Johnny Hardwick denied his dispute, and Democrat Doug Jones was certified moments later as the winner of the special election to replace Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Moore, accused during the campaign of molesting, sexually assaulting and pursuing teenage girls when he was younger, claimed experts had found fraud “improperly altered the outcome of the election.” Moore refused to concede defeat Thursday.
