CLOTHING DRIVE A BIG SUCCESS

-

A CLOTHING drive for the survivors of the Bronx fire that left 12 dead and dozens homeless was so successful that a second day of donations is not needed. Coats, blankets, shoes and clothes in all sizes were dropped off Saturday at the Church of St. Martin of Tours on Crotona Ave. near E. 182nd St. in the Belmont section. A steady stream of generous New Yorkers carried in bag after bag to help neighbors who lost everything. “We are overwhelmed by the generosity shown here in the #Bronx in response to the tragic fire,” NYPD Patrol Borough Bronx posted on its Twitter page. “We have sufficient items for all families affected and will no longer be accepting donations. Please refer to you local charities for any items you are still looking to donate.”
