Crashers turned party to tragedy

IT WAS FAR from a sweet 16.

A Bronx birthday celebration that ended in a teenager’s death erupted into chaos when more than 300 uninvited people crashed the party, police sources said Saturday.

Word of the sweet 16 bash at Maestro’s Caterers on Bronxdale Ave. in Van Nest made its way onto social media sites, prompting scores of teens not on the guest list to show up, police sources said.

The party crashers sparked a fight with invited guests outside about 12:20 a.m. early Thursday, according to authorities.

During the brawl, one of the uninvited guests jumped into a black Honda and opened fire into the crowd as he drove off.

One of the bullets hit 16-year-old Sincear (Sin) Williams (photo) in the neck, police said. Medics rushed him to Jacobi Medical Center, where he died.

A 17-year-old boy was shot in the arm and taken to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Williams and the injured teen were both invited to the party.

A heartbroken friend of Williams said on social media she was about to share a cab home with him before the shooting broke out.

“I swear s--- don’t even feel real,” wrote the friend, who identified herself as Layy Lani on Facebook. “The thought that (we) was just together & 2 minutes later you gone ?? (I) can’t believe that.”

Police have not made any arrests in the shooting.

Williams’ loved ones have created a GoFundMe page to raise money for his funeral.

Within one day, donors helped raise $7,201 — $1,201 more than the $6,000 requested.

Williams’ death comes as the city is poised to shatter records and end 2017 with fewer than 300 homicides, officials said.

As of Thursday, cops were investigating 289 murders across the city — a 13% drop compared to the 333 killings this time a year earlier, cops said.

Shootings are also down for the year, by about 21%, the NYPD said.

Police said 784 shootings were logged in the city by Thursday — 204 fewer than the 988 reported this time last year.
