boring. It was cookie-cutter. It could have been on in any other city like Philadelph­ia or Boston.

There was no viral rip of a local team, no shouting down of a caller, no bombastic boast from the new trio, all the things we’ve been spoiled by over the years. The biggest news any of their guests made was if you read between the lines of what Giants GM Dave Gettleman or Eli Manning said, and that’s not necessaril­y the fault of the new hosts, either. The most memorable thing that happened during those two high-profile interviews was Gettleman’s cell phone rang in the background and his ring tone is more interestin­g than anything the three news hosts said.

It was refreshing, though, to hear someone ask questions and wait for a response without talking over them on WFAN in the afternoon.

CMB, as they’re calling themselves on Twitter which also happens to be the acronym for Cash Money Brothers — the drug-dealing crew led by Wesley Snipes in the movie “New Jack City” — was simply four-and-a-half
