boring. It was cookie-cutter. It could have been on in any other city like Philadelphia or Boston.

There was no viral rip of a local team, no shouting down of a caller, no bombastic boast from the new trio, all the things we’ve been spoiled by over the years. The biggest news any of their guests made was if you read between the lines of what Giants GM Dave Gettleman or Eli Manning said, and that’s not necessarily the fault of the new hosts, either. The most memorable thing that happened during those two high-profile interviews was Gettleman’s cell phone rang in the background and his ring tone is more interesting than anything the three news hosts said.

It was refreshing, though, to hear someone ask questions and wait for a response without talking over them on WFAN in the afternoon.
