Shot outside strip club on Staten Island

A 23-YEAR-OLD man was shot and wounded outside a notorious Staten Island strip club early Wednesday, officials said.

David Estrella was blasted in the chest after approaching the shooter’s vehicle outside the Xcess Gentlemen’s Club on Arthur Kill Road in Charleston about 3:50 a.m. and getting in a fight with him, police said. The gunman sped off in a gray fourdoor sedan.

Medics took Estrella to Staten Island University Hospital North, where he was in stable condition Wednesday afternoon. One shell casing was recovered at the scene.

The strip club is the former site of Curves, where a New Jersey cop, Pedro Abad, got drunk in March 2015 before driving the wrong way up a highway service road and slamming into an oncoming car, killing two of his passengers. Abad was sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Curves closed after the crash and reopened as Xcess.

In September, an off-duty firefighter was injured after a brawl broke out inside the club, cops said.
