THE ART OF METAL

- Georgina Chapman, Jason Newsted Nick Korniloff’s

conviction against him for the rape of a 13-year-old girl.

Just last month, the LAPD said it was investigating a new claim from a California woman who alleges Polanski made inappropriate contact with her during a 1975 photo shoot that took place when she was 10.

It was also a bad 2017 for Weinstein, who saw 84 women make various complaints of sexual misconduct against him.

Weinstein infamously penned a 2009 Op-Ed for the British publication The Independent, arguing: “Whatever you think about the so-called crime, Polanski has served his time.” In that missive, Weinstein waxes poetic about the good times he’s shared with Polanski.

“Harvey would be welcomed in Switzerland,” according to our insider. “It’s a neutral country. There are probably lots of shady people here who just lay low.”

Weinstein’s estranged wife, told associates two weeks before the trip that she and her children would forgo Gstaad too. Weinstein had booked a suite plus a regular room a year in advance. Former Metallica bassist (inset) will kick off his appearance at Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary art fair with a performance at the Ann Norton Sculpture Gardens on Wednesday. Newsted will show new paintings that include a blue cat playing the guitar at the fair, which runs from Jan. 11 to 15 at 55Bellechasse’s booth. The rocker will donate half of his sales to the Perry J. Cohen Foundation supporting boating safety.
