DAVID LETTERMAN is set to make quite the return to TV — with a first guest of presidential proportions. The longtime late-night host will have former President Barack Obama on the first episode of his new Netflix interview show, “My Next Guest Needs No Introduction,” the streaming service announced Friday. It will mark Obama’s first TV appearance since he left office in January 2017.JAY-Z, Howard The new series launches Friday and will feature hour-long episodes in which Letterman speaks to bigname stars. Other high-profile figures slated to appear on the first season include George Clooney, Tina Fey, Stern and Malala Yousafzai.
The series premiere comes five months after Netflix and Letterman unveiled plans for their new show in August.
Letterman, 70, retired in 2015 after hosting the “Late Show” on CBS for over two decades. He spent 33 years overall as a late-night host.
He appeared on the National Geographic show “Years of Living Dangerously” after his departure from the “Late Show.”
Letterman is one of many bigname entertainers to provide content for Netflix recently, joining a list that also includes Jerry Seinfeld, Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock and Kevin James.
