DAFOE IS ‘IN THE MIX’
There is major Oscar buzz surrounding
turn as a beleaguered motel manager in “The Florida Project” but it’s not the first time at the rodeo for the New York based actor.
He nabbed Best Supporting Actor nominations for “Shadow of the Vampire” in 2001 and “Platoon” all the way back in 1987.
Dafoe told Confidential at the New York Film Critics Circle Awards that the experience is mostly fun.
“It feels like you’re in the mix,” he explained. “It feels like you’re in discussion, and that helps you for future opportunities.”
Dafoe is not interested, however, in the array of freebies foisted on nominees.
“I’m not a very materialistic person,” he said. “I like to eat well, I like a nice hotel, I like a nice massage.”
He conceded that he has a nice apartment but only has the TV hooked up to basic cable “but I rarely turn it on. Pretty much, only for movies.”
Gactress has gone to a new home. The Instagram superstar is no longer staying with her music producer boyfriend in their Los Angeles apartment, according to sources in La La Land. They’ve been an item for three years, though Magid has not been spotted with Ratajkowski in the Toy Factory Lofts where they cohabitated “in several weeks” we’re told. “They were living together at his downtown L.A. apartment in the trendy Arts District,” according to our insider. “While Emily did not make a big deal publicly about them living together, it was common knowledge among her friends.” We’re told that in October, the social media super model, who made a name for herself in 2013 “Blurred Lines” video, told neighbors she was looking to move into a house of her own. What this means for their relationship is unclear. A rep for Ratajkowski declined to comment on her living arrangement or relationship status. Magid could not be reached.
