Prez-whipped Bannon now Breit-barred

STEPHEN BANNON stepped down from Breitbart News on Tuesday afternoon, putting an abrupt end to his reign at the farright website amid a public beef with President Trump. The exit comes just days after the release of Michael Wolff’s explosive book, “Fire and Fury,” in which Bannon (photo) questions Trump’s mental health and called his son’s meeting with a Russian lawyer offering dirt on Hillary Clinton “treasonous.”

“I’m proud of what the Breitbart team has accomplished in so short a period of time in building out a world-class news platform,” Bannon said in a statement.

Bannon returned to Breitbart after he was uncermoniously dropped from the White House in August. Trump blasted his former chief strategist as an egotistical liar who had “lost his mind” after Wolff’s book release last week.
