Yes, President Trump is the s--t!
Wheatfield, Ind.: In referring to Haiti, El Salvador and African nations as “shithole countries” during discussions on immigration policy, President Trump shows he doesn’t want people of color in our country and would like to banish many of them and implement a policy forbidding many of them from coming into our country. He is turning more and more into a very dangerous President. Another world leader from another time comes to mind, Adolf Hitler, who also put a plan into place to abolish a certain group of people, Jews. From 1941-45, Nazi Germany targeted European Jewry for extermination as part of a larger event that included the persecution of groups including political opponents.
It was a sad time in history. Trump is now taking the United States to a similar sad point by trying to implement racist policies. The dangerous question remaining to be seen now is, who is next? He has already targeted certain religious groups for banishment. What group or class of people is next? Brian Vukadinovich
No way for a POTUS to talk
Brooklyn: There is absolutely no excuse for President Trump to say a curse word in public, nor to say that curse word while describing nations of the world, especially those with which we have good relationships. The President should be a role model for all, especially for our youth, and once again he proves he is far from that. And I am waiting patiently for family values politicians and activists to condemn this language and this attitude espoused by the President. Ellen Levitt
Some genius
Bronx: I should think that anyone who claims to have the education that Donald Trump claims to have and who is a “genius” as he claims to be would have access to a much wider vocabulary than he seems to have. His vocabulary seems to be very basic slang (as in “bad dude”) and vulgar. You can dress up a garbage heap by covering it with sod or turf but it will still smell like a garbage heap. You can put an expensive suit on a redneck and make it look pretty, but it is still a redneck, I wonder how much money his father gave the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania to allow his son Donald to graduate. Every time Trump opens his mouth and a sound comes out, it only proves how uneducated this man is.

Speaking the truth
Brooklyn: Trump speaks the truth the way regular people speak. They are shithole countries. And the Clinton Foundation helped keep Haiti a shithole.

Speaking the truth II
Lexington, Ky.: President Trump described accurately many of the places from which America derives its immigrant populations. They are places no one would desire to live in if they had a choice, and we all know it. Sure, he was rough in his language; but he was telling the truth. In fact, those who are saying his words “don’t reflect our values” have apparently forgotten the words on the Statue of Liberty, a poem we all say reflects the glorious hope of America. That poem refers directly to the populations that we invite here, and it calls them “wretched refuse.” In other words, it refers to people — people, not places — as garbage. So Trump is on perfectly safe ground here. He referred to where people come from; he didn’t characterize their race. All the faux outrage is pure politics. Jack Webb
Up from the sewer
Scarborough, N.Y.: Let’s remind our racist President that America was made great by the children and grandchildren of immigrants who came from then — shithole countries — Ireland, Italy, Poland, Russia and the like. They became scientists, teachers, lawyers, doctors — even FBI agents, Mr. President. Thomas F. Comiskey

Draining values
Brooklyn: To claim that President Trump’s reference to some countries as a “shithole” is not in keeping with American values is sadly mistaken. The voters who placed him in office will agree with the President’s assessment of countries in Africa and Haiti, and they will hail his commitment to America first. This is what Trump’s America values — wealth, celebrity and prejudice. And Trump will continue to represent those values as long as he is able to pull his nuggets of wisdom from his own hole.

Norway or the highway
Kew Gardens: President Trump says we should have more immigrants from countries like Norway. Interesting. Does that mean he and his conservative backers are willing to modify our current social service model to include universal health care and the other extensive social benefits that the residents of these nations enjoy, already? I don’t think so.

Lyndhurst, N.J.: Best front page ever! A portrait of Donald Dump worth framing or to use in creating a new dart board.Thank you!

Tough questions
Medford, L.I.: We all see the big media uproar about President Trump’s alleged statement, “Why are we bringing all these people from shithole countries into our country?” But oddly, no one wants to seem to answer the question. So I’ll rephrase it: Why would we want the world’s most destitute, illiterate people from the most backwards regions of the world who refuse to speak our language and assimilate into our culture, while draining precious resources from actual American citizens, into our country? Perhaps a tweet by actor James Woods put it best: “We bring people from shithole countries because shithole Democrats need shithole votes so they can turn America into a shithole.” And there it is. Eugene R. Dunn
Talking the real s--t
Weldon, Calif.: Conspicuously left out of lefty/globalist media/press is that Trump wants to limit immigration from El Salvador and Honduras, among other South American nations. Instead it’s a race to the race card and Africa so as to deflect from dealing with the reality of the South American communist nations, whose makeup is not black, as well as African nations that are exactly as President Trump described. The UN has propped up and promoted these murderous leftist regimes forever as well as exploited them and now doesn’t want to face the fact that the suffering and misery of their own creation is coming back to haunt them with President Trump calling it like it is. Facts are a stubborn thing. Deal with it.

Dumping on Don
Rockaway Park: I get it. The Daily News is run by a bunch of Trumphating liberals. But now you have gone too far. How dare you portray the duly elected President of the United States as a pile of excrement? It is both disgusting and disrespectful. I can no longer read what you think passes for a daily newspaper. Cancel my subscription. Peter Galvin
No longer worthy of salute
Jackson Heights: Friday’s front page of the Daily News will go down in history as one of its all-time classics. As a veteran of over 10 years active duty service in the United States Army, I am ashamed, appalled and disgusted by the words and deeds of the present occupant of the office of President of the United States and commander in chief of the Armed Forces. I have no further tolerance for his continuance in said office. Kenneth H. Barr
Got our stuff together
Friday Harbor, Wash.: Thank you for your Trump poop emoji cover. You’ve illustrated my thoughts. Really, it helps. Barbara Wollman
Enough with The News
Brooklyn: Having been a loyal Daily News reader for over 40 years, it seems that I am finally done. Your cover for of a pile of poop representing the President of the United States is disgusting. You may not like or agree with what he says, but he is still the President. Your paper does enough President-bashing that it doesn’t need to go in the gutter. You are doing exactly what the President is accused of doing. Your disregard for the President can be clearly heard through the writings of this paper. And here is another thing: Most of the people in this country wanted him for President. Put that in your pipe and smoke it! Frances Stackpole
