Wahlberg gives up all the money

MARK WAHLBERG tried to squash the growing controversy over the glaring pay disparity between him and co-star Michelle Williams for “All The Money in the World” reshoots by donating $1.5 million to the #TimesUp legal fund in her name.

Wahlberg, according to USA Today, was paid $1.5 million for the reshoots. Williams was paid $80 per day, which amounted to less than $1,000 for doing her scenes a second time around.

The reshoots during the week of Thanksgiving became necessary after a series of sexual misconduct accusations were made by men against Kevin Spacey, who was portraying billionaire J. Paul Getty in the kidnapping drama. Director Ridley Scott replaced Spacey with Christopher Plummer.

“Over the last few days my reshoot fee for ‘All The Money in the World’ has become an important topic of conversation,” Wahlberg announced on Twitter Saturday. “I 100% support the fight for fair pay and I’m donating the $1.5 million to the Time’s Up Legal Defense Fund in Michelle Williams’ name.”

The 46-year-old actor reportedly was able to get a bigger paycheck due to the fact his original contract said he would not be available for reshoots, according to The Wrap.

USA Today also reported that Wahlberg held up production on the film while trying to get his $1.5 million.

“What he said was, ‘I will not approve Christopher Plummer unless you pay me,’ ” a source told USA Today.

William Morris Endeavor, the agency that represents Wahlberg and Williams, also announced it would pledge $500,000 to #TimesUp, according to Deadline.
