DEMS MISS CHANCE ON DACA – PREZ

-

PRESIDENT TRUMP blamed “all talk and no action” Democrats on Saturday for lack of an immigration deal as he tried to divert attention away from his coarse comments about Haiti and African countries.

Democrats “are doing nothing to fix DACA. Great opportunity missed. Too bad!” Trump tweeted while spending the weekend at his private resort in Florida.

Last year, Trump ended the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, or DACA, program which protected some young immigrants from deportation.Negotiations on a DACA deal came to a screeching halt this week when Trump derided African countries as “shitholes” and asked during a closed door Oval Office meeting why more immigrants couldn’t come from countries like Norway.

“I don’t believe the Democrats really want to see a deal on DACA,” Trump tweeted Saturday. “They are all talk and no action. This is the time but, day by day, they are blowing the one great opportunity they have. Too bad!”

Meanwhile Saturday, Citizenship and Immigration Services said it’s resumed accepting requests to renew grants of deferred action under DACA.

The decision comes four days after a federal judge, in a nod to pending lawsuits, temporarily blocked the Trump administration’s decision to end the program.

In a statement posted Saturday on its website, the USCIS said the policy will operate under the terms in place before it was rescinded in September.
