If it’s your birthday

-

Once I got a fortune cookie that describes your birthday chart perfectly: “Be boldly who you are. Be humbly who you aspire to be.” Your career, profession or vocation is not a thing outside yourself. It’s the expression of your life purpose and your existence. This is much more fun, it’s easier and it’s more fulfilling. Grow into your most meaningful purpose. You share a birthday with Martin Luther King, Jr., Moliere, and Regina King. MARCH 21-APRIL 19 Your professional responsibilities don’t necessarily bring you emotionally closer to people, and sometimes you have to stand on your own. Make the decisions you have to make, even if they’re difficult, and even if they’re not popular. You will feel better for doing the right thing. You always do. APRIL 20-MAY 20 You may be wrestling with your conscience, though there’s no need to pin yourself down to the mat. What is right is obvious, and you know it. You’re only struggling to let go of a feeling or emotion, which currently seems bigger than it is. Keep some perspective, and face the future. MAY 21-JUNE 20 Acknowledge what you’re experiencing if you feel lonely or isolated, even if you have no reason to. You’ve embarked on a new phase of your relationship life in recent weeks, and a new approach is necessary. This calls for more commitment, not less; though you must invest that in the right people. JUNE 21-JULY 22 The Moon moving through your opposite sign Capricorn today and tomorrow will demonstrate that you’ve come far from the territory where you so recently seemed stuck. Let certain new relationships develop gradually, and feel the subtle, soulful quality of your encounters with others. JULY 23-AUG. 22 Discern carefully what has to happen sooner, and what can happen later. That means setting priorities, and organizing yourself around them. There may be one rather pressing priority you need to act on today. You’ll feel a sense of relief when you begin that task -- and when you’re done. AUG. 23-SEPT. 22 It’s possible that an encounter of some kind has taken you deeper than you were planning to go, though not deeper than you can handle. If you take the perspective of a child rather than that of an overly serious adult, you’ll start to cast off the fear, and reap the benefits. SEPT. 23-OCT. 22 One of your greatest assets is the emotional independence you’ve cultivated. You don’t need others as much as you used to, though it would be great if others learned to rely on themselves as well. Make sure that any support you offer guides people in that direction. OCT. 23-NOV. 21 You may feel like you need to make radical or sudden changes to your diet or health regimen. However, that rarely works. What tends to succeed is the slow phasein, based on gradually increasing knowledge and commitment. Stay close to your purpose. For you, meaning is a form of nutrition. NOV. 22-DEC. 21 Your financial situation isn’t as dire as you may think. You have some work to do, though you’re willing and able. The key is staying grounded, and connected to your purpose, rather than making money its own purpose. It’s not -- its role is to serve you, not the other way around. JAN. 20-FEB. 18 All human behavior is driven by deep motives and patterns, though these are often hidden. At the moment you have a rare window into just some of what that material is, which increases the potential for growth and self-awareness. Be honest with yourself, and make some important decisions. FEB. 19-MARCH 20 You may feel like you’re of a rare breed or one of a kind, which is your greatest asset, not a problem. However, if you put the sensation of feeling different out front, you’ll only succeed at making yourself feel awkward. Just be the person you are, and see if anyone notices that fact.
