BRIAN HAS NO !

Goose: He should’ve been fired 10 years ago

- BY MIKE MAZZEO

TAMPA — Goose let loose. Again. And this time, it’s the GM of the Yankees who has the Hall of Fame reliever enraged.

Goose Gossage, who wasn’t invited to sprin g training as a guest instructor by his former team, unloaded on Brian Cashman, calling the 2017 Executive of the Year “a f---ing a--hole” and saying he has “no balls” in an interview with the Daily News on Monday.

Gossage, 66, has become a polarizing figure and rankled many due to his controversial comments in recent years, taking shots at Mariano Rivera, Jose Bautista and Yoenis Cespedes.

On Monday, it was no different — and his relationship with the team, which he still supports, is on life support if not already in the morgue.

“He would’ve been gone 10 years ago if George (Steinbrenner) was still around,” Gossage said of Cashman. “He’d have been gone when he jumped out of that f---ing airplane. Do you think he’s a good f---ing baseball guy, really? He doesn’t believe in f---ing coaching.” Cashman, who had not returned a message for comment left on Monday afternoon, has become more powerful within the organization after rebuilding the team way faster than expected.

“Well, with power, is that what happens to you, you turn into a f---ing a--hole. Is that it? I don’t know,” Gossage said.

Gossage said he asked Cashman last year what he had ever done to him. “‘We used to get along. I used to like you. And then something changed.’”
