Inwood Academy for Leadership Charter School
Software applications for math, reading, and writing are used at Inwood Academy to help students who struggle in any of those areas. They work in the classroom at their own level and pace in a non-intimidating way, to learn and practice without feeling judged. Students who use independent study to prepare for advanced coursework and exams also use these same applications.
In addition to academic growth through individualized learning, our goal is for students to be deeply knowledgeable about the use of technology in communication, collaboration, and creativity. These are the very skills that will contribute to their college and career readiness.

Inwood Academy’s after school program for middle school students includes structured activities, debate teams, and STEM, reading and writing tutoring. From a leadership development perspective, students can attend “Man Up!” and “Girls Group” which provide peer mediation. There are also DJ and culinary arts programs and those interested in reading/writing or need more skills development can attend journalism and book clubs. At the high school, we offer a variety of clubs and access to our woodshop. We have 21 coaches overseeing single gender and coed sports leagues in baseball, basketball, cross country, flag football, softball, field hockey, soccer, volleyball and wrestling.
Is extended day part of every student’s experience?
Yes, extended day is part of every students’ schedule. All middle school students can also sign up to attend our free after school program.
What are you looking forward to this spring?
