Bronx Academy of Promise Charter School

The focus is on character and career education at Bronx Academy of Promise Charter School. Located at 1349 Inwood Avenue, Bronx Academy of Promise teaches grades K-8. Applications for the 2018-19 school year lottery are now being accepted. Special preference is given to siblings of current students and children who reside in CSD 9, but prospective students from other districts are also welcome.

If the name sounds familiar, you may have seen the national commercial featuring Bronx Academy of Promise that aired during Black History Month in 2014. Verizon created the ad when the school was the national winner of the 2013 Verizon App Challenge.

Bronx Academy of Promise Charter School was established in 2008 with a commitment to educating the whole child. They provide a comprehensive academic curriculum with character and career education integrated into all areas of study. Students are exposed to the arts on a weekly basis with art and music instruction. Students also have access to extracurricular activities including math and glee clubs.
