SAM New York’s multi-ethnicity will be celebrated around the 5 boroughs this weekend with a couple of pre-St. Patrick’s Day parades, several Lunar New Year events and a salsa and blues fest. Getting there by subway could be tough with the 7 train not running between Queens and Manhattan this weekend.
Further out in the borough, almost all of Cross Bay Blvd. between W. 19th Road and the Jamaica Bay Wildlife Trail will be closed to northbound traffic Sunday from 4 a.m. to 8 p.m.
In Brooklyn, a Lunar New Year parade will be a straight shot on 18th Ave. from 65th to 81St Sts., which will close around 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday. Traffic will be slow crossing 18th, and heavier on nearby avenues, including 16th, 18th and New Utrecht.
Later Sunday, Staten Island’s St. Patrick’s Day parade starts at noon on Hart Boulevard, going on Forest to Ordell Aves.
Saturday is also busy from 1 to 5 p.m. with a New Year’s parade on Rockaway Partners or loved ones play a vital role in keeping you steady and on track this year.
