SEAN’S APPLE MESS

-

ASHOWDOWN AT Grand Central Terminal soured a sci-fi icon on the high-tech Apple store. With time to kill before shooting scenes for her TV series “A Beautiful Distraction,” Sean

Young, who co-starred in the 1982 sci-fi classic “Blade Runner” and was digitally inserted into last year’s long-awaited sequel “Blade Runner 2049,” stopped into the Apple store overlooking Grand Central’s main concourse.

We’re told that Young (photo) expressed a polite interest in the Apple Watches on display and posed for fan photos while waiting to film with “hunky Brit” actor Adrian Paul. But once cameras were about to roll outside of the store, an unscripted drama took center stage.

“Despite the fact it wasn’t in or in front of the Apple store there, (the store’s) manager forbade any filming, even near the store,” we’re told.

One witness says the show’s director, Marcus Slabine, tried to explain to the manager that he would be shooting on public grounds and had permission to do so. We’re told that the retail warrior wouldn’t budge, even when Young intervened.

“Sean tried unsuccessfully to reason with the store manager,” we’re told. Eventually the crew picked up their gear and shot the scene safely away from the store in another part of the train terminal.

Young confirms to us that the show was hoping to shoot in front of the store, but the Apple staffer was unflinching “so we just left.” Young also said that she was only making conversation when inquiring about the Apple Watches, which range from $329 and $749, and has no interest in buying one.

“(I) soon realized I would need my glasses to see the icons and that the watch was a young person’s toy,” she said. Things could have been worse for Apple staffers. In 2012, Young reportedly showed up for the Academy Awards honors in Los Angeles without a ticket and slapped a security guard when she was asked to leave. Young was arrested for battery, but insisted the security guard was the aggressor. The charges were later dropped.
