EATS BEAT

-

It’s worth a trip back to — the hip 1970s design and musicinspired lounge in the East Village (100 Third Ave.) — even if you’ve been here before. The food and drink menus are entirely revamped, brought to you by recently hired executive chef Jamie Allen and beverage director Darnell Holguin. The new lineups fuse city life with nostalgia, which makes sense since VNYL stands for Vintage New York Lifestyle. Playful new drink additions include the Cup o’ Joe ($15), served in a bodega coffee cup, and made with cold brew, Dewers 12 whiskey, Caffè Amaro (coffee liqueur), and Giffard Banane du Brésil (banana liqueur). Another fun one, also $15, is It Was All a Dream (below) — which comes in a Solo cup wrapped in a paper bag, and is crafted with Bacardi, allspice dram, passion fruit condensed milk, and Amaro Averna (Italian liqueur). New food items include naan flatbreads like lamb shoulder ($16), also topped with charred cherry tomatoes, tzatziki, dill, and shaved dried Thai chili; and Yellowfin Tuna Poke with ponzu, avocado, house-made wonton chips and more ($27).
