HOW 55 Cases PLAYED OUT
The Daily News reviewed disciplinary decisions against 55 NYPD officers between July 22 and Sept. 29, 2017. Of those officers: One was fired.
10 were placed on one-year “dismissal probation,” on top of suspensions and a loss of vacation days, for a variety of charges ranging from overtime theft to assaulting another officer while on duty.
30 were docked between 10 and 45 vacation days. Of those, eight were docked 10 days, nine 15 days and seven 20 days. Six served suspensions ranging from 20 to 33 days. Two were found not guilty of all departmental charges.
Six saw their departmental charges dismissed, though two of those still lost a small number of vacation days.
