Fox sued in DNCer ‘lies’

THE PARENTS of a murdered Democratic National Committee staffer are suing Fox News for a retracted story they say fueled conspiracy theories about their son’s death.

Joel and Mary Rich filed a lawsuit in Manhattan Federal Court on Tuesday against the network, along with investigative reporter Malia Zimmerman and contributor Ed Butowsky.

The couple claims a story Zimmerman and Butkowsky worked on in May about their slain son Seth, caused emotional distress during an already devastating time.

Seth Rich, a voter-expansion data director for the DNC, was shot to death as he walked down a Washington street on July 10, 2016.

Metropolitan police believe Rich was killed in an attempted robbery. But Fox News published a story claiming Rich (photo) leaked DNC emails to WikiLeaks.

The report was heavily promoted by Sean Hannity before Fox News retracted it a week later for failing to meet a “high degree of editorial scrutiny,” the network said.
