PORT ST. LUCIE — The Mets released unsettling news on team captain David Wright Tuesday.

Wright, who is trying to make a comeback from numerous surgeries to his neck, back and shoulder, was shut down from performing any baseball activities for eight weeks after he was re-examined in Los Angeles by Dr. Robert Watkins. “Shoulder and back issues persist,” said the Mets’ press release.
