FRASER’S #METOO REVEAL

-

UP COMES FRASER. Brendan Fraser is enjoying a comeback of sorts with FX’s “Trust,” which celebrated its highly anticipated March 25 premiere with a party Wednesday at Florence Gould Hall in Midtown. That’s where Fraser (photo), who last month came forward to claim he’d been groped by a movie industry bigwig in 2003, told us he has no regrets about his admission.

“There was a process for me to go through . . . I took my shot,” he said. “When you fire an arrow, you can’t get it back, you don’t know where it’s going to land or if it’s going to stick.”

Fraser thanks the women of the #MeToo movement for encouraging him to make sexual misconduct allegations against former Hollywood Foreign Press Association President

Philip Berk. Berk told CNN in a written statement: “The charge of a sexual innuendo is a total fabrication and a desperate attempt by Fraser to rescucitate (sic) his career.”

“I’m hopeful that there will be those who may be able to be inspired the same way I was by those women who came forward and let me know that we’re stronger together,” Fraser said.

Fraser’s return to the red carpet comes a month after the GQ interview in which he spoke of the alleged assault. He claims Berk grabbed his rear end, then let his hand roam even further down at Beverly Hills Hotel Luncheon. Berk dismissed it as a simple “pinch.” Fraser also told the mag that incident made him “more reclusive” in that interview, which was called “What Ever Happened to Brendan Fraser?”

The star of “The Mummy” told us that while playing a fixer for oil heir John Paul Getty III in “Trust,” his most high-profile gig in recent memory, he relied on a very important prop to bring him out of his shell: a big Stetson cowboy hat.

“Don’t laugh,” Fraser said. “The hat helped a lot. It gives you a sense of confidence . . . There’s something about the shape of that object of haberdashery that speaks a sense of truth or trust.”
