Mueller subpoena for
PRESIDENT TRUMP’S company has been forking over documents to special prosecutors looking into possible election-meddling by Russia since last year, a lawyer for the company said Thursday.
The Trump Organization has been responding to requests for records from special counsel Robert Mueller since July 2017, company lawyer Alan Futerfas said.
The president’s corporation is “fully cooperative with all investigations, including the special counsel,” Futerfas said.
His statement came in response to a New York Times report that the company had been slapped with a subpoena for documents involving the company’s dealings with Russia.
“This is old news and our assistance and cooperation with the various investigations remains the same today,” Futerfas said. Last July, the President told The New York Times that Mueller would be crossing a “red line” if the investigation started looking into his or his family’s personal finances. He stopped short of saying that he would fire Mueller (photo), a former FBI director, for snooping in his business records. “No, I think that’s a violation. Look, this is about Russia. So I think if he wants to go, my finances are extremely good, my company is an unbelievably successful company,” the president said during the Times interview.
