He should’ve died in jail

-

Herman Bell, the Black Liberation Army terrorist who ambushed and murdered Patrolmen Joseph Piagentini and Waverly Jones in Harlem on May 21, 1971, should die in prison like his partner in crime Albert Washington did. That outcome wouldn’t bring back the two slain NYPD cops, but it would be the closest thing to justice short of the electric chair.

Instead, due to a complete dereliction of duty and decency, the state Parole Board has granted Bell release.

Shame, deepest shame on Otis Cruse and Carol Shapiro for voting yes. And thank you to Caryne Demosthenes for voting no.

It is a bedrock principle: You don’t kill cops, and if you do, you’ll spend every last moment of your life behind bars. Good deeds and remorse don’t matter. There should be no parole, no release, no clemency for cop killers.

The third assassin of the patrolmen, Anthony Bottom, aka Jalil Abdul Muntaqim, is still locked up. He has a parole hearing in June. He should get out when he’s dead.
