Pol takes aim at firearms prizes

CHARITY RAFFLES would be gun-free affairs if a Brooklyn lawmaker gets her way.

Assemblywoman Jo Anne Simon, a Democrat, has introduced legislation that would prohibit the use of firearms as prizes in any games of chance.

“It boggles my mind that anyone would think this was a good thing to raffle off,” Simon said.

Simon said she was moved to introduce the bill after learning that a pro-NRA fund-raiser in Coney Island on April 12 at Gargiulo’s Restaurant, was to include a raffle with several guns as prizes.
