Butcher in deal to duck noose rap

-

THE CO-OWNER of a famed West Village butcher shop who had been accused of handing a noose to a black delivery man took a dismissal deal Monday.

Joseph Ottomanelli, 59, proprietor of Ottomanelli & Sons Meat Market, completed community service and a program and was allowed to take a dismissal deal.

He had denied the act, saying it was an employee who handed the offensive item to 37-year-old Victor Sheppard on April 5.

The butcher previously copped to disorderly conduct after his arrest for a hate crime, but the conviction was wiped out as part of the arrangement his attorney previously hammered out with prosecutors.

“Joseph Ottomanelli did not do that which he was accused of doing,” his lawyer Ron Kuby said.

“Unfortunately, a false accusation has become tantamount to a conviction and perpetual sentence on social media,” he added.

Sheppard, who worked for Hunts Point, Bronx-based meat distributor Mosner Family Brands, has said the incident left him scarred.

“I’ve had panic attacks, nightmares, cold sweats ever since," Sheppard previously said.

Mosner severed ties with the Ottomanelli shop after a 20-year business relationship.
