Charged in B’klyn UPS break-in

- Graham Rayman

A MAN who entered a UPS facility in Brooklyn was pretending to have a weapon when a security guard shot him, police said Tuesday.

Martin Peters, 38, of Brooklyn, was slapped with menacing, trespass and weapon possession charges in the bizarre Monday incident. Peters allegedly charged into the shipping center on Foster Ave. and E. 105th St. in Canarsie around 10:40 p.m.

Confronted by the guard, Peters faked having a gun — and the guard opened fire, hitting Peters in one foot.

Peters took off, but cops quickly caught up. Medics took him to Brookdale University Hospital in stable condition.

According to authorities, Peters was arrested previously, on rape charges in 2002. The outcome of the case could not be determined. He also has three prior sealed arrests.
