Green brass on QB hunt
IT’S QUARTERBACK hunting season for the Jets, who will be spending time with each of the top signal callers in the upcoming days and weeks before they make the biggest decision of their professional lives with the No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
Jets brass, including general manager Mike Maccagnan, head coach Todd Bowles, offensive coordinator Jeremy Bates, VP of player personnel Brian Heimerdinger and college scouting director Matt Bazirgan attended USC Pro Day on Wednesday to watch Sam Darnold sling it around.
Gang Green has also scheduled time with UCLA’s Josh Rosen.
The Jets caravan will move to Wyoming to watch Josh Allen’s Pro Day on Friday.
Then, Maccagnan & Co. will go to Oklahoma for a private workout/session with Baker Mayfield on Saturday, according to sources.
Darnold, Rosen, Allen and Mayfield will also each make visits to the Jets facility in Florham Park in the coming weeks before Gang Green picks their guy on April 26.
There’s a feeling that the Jets covet Darnold/Rosen/ Allen more than Mayfield, according to sources. Stay tuned.
