Gang looks at UCLA’s Josh

-

The Jets brass conducted a private workout with UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen on Thursday, the Daily News learned.

The team’s brain trust spent Wednesday at USC Pro Day studying Sam Darnold, so it wasn’t a far trek to spend time with Rosen in Southern California.

General manager Mike Maccagnan was among a few Jets reps who attended UCLA Pro Day recently to evaluate Rosen. Now, the whole Gang Green caravan, including Todd Bowles, will get time with the best pure pocket passer in the draft.

The Jets are off to Wyoming after that to take a closer look at Josh Allen on Friday. The team brass will then travel to Oklahoma for a private workout with GETTY Baker Mayfield on Saturday.

The News reported Thursday morning that CEO and chairman Christopher Johnson will not take part in any of the private workouts for Darnold, Rosen, Allen or Mayfield.

The Jets believe that Darnold will be the top pick in the draft. Browns owner Jimmy Haslam spent Wednesday watching USC Pro Day with Darnold’s parents after taking the quarterback out to dinner.

The Giants could be amenable to trading out of the No. 2 slot to pave the way for a quarterback-needy team.

Will Rosen be available for the Jets at No. 3?

They better hope so, because he’s destined to be a star. —Mehta
