$19/hr. for airport staff

WAGES OF airport workers are scheduled for takeoff after the Port Authority on Thursday finally voted to raise their pay following a yearslong campaign.

The PA board unanimously passed a resolution to hike minimum wages at airports to $19 per hour in September 2023.

The effort had been stalled by politics. New York had raised its minimum wage, but New Jersey had not, creating a pay disparity. The gap will close in 2019, when the hourly wage in both states hits $15.60 for airport workers.
