Wanted: Brains to fix this mess
LOOKS LIKE Facebook is ready to flood the swamp.
The scandal-plagued social network wants to hire 11 policy experts and lawyers as the government’s watchful eye bears down after the Cambridge Analytica scandal ripped open a hole in the company’s practices.
The jobs listed on Facebook’s career website are based in Washington, or the company’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif.
Facebook coughed up $11.4 million for lobbying activities last year, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday, nearly $3 million more than in 2016.
That money went to 11 lobbying firms including powerhouse firms Harbinger Strategies and Subject Matter, which Open Secrets indicates each received $240,000.
The company declined to comment, but an official told the Daily News none of the listed positions will be required to register as a lobbyist.
