2 people’s DNA in stab slaying of 6-yr.-old boy

GENETIC MATERIAL from two people was found on the knife used to slash and stab two children in a deadly Brooklyn elevator attack, according to a DNA expert.

Daniel St. Hubert was arrested after his DNA was detected on a 9-inch knife found June 1, 2014, outside the Boulevard Houses in East New York where 6-year-old P.J. Avitto was killed and his 7-year-old friend Mikayla Capers was left clinging to life.

A DNA expert told jurors at St. Hubert’s murder trial Tuesday that at least two profiles showed up on the handle of the knife.

One belonged to St. Hubert, he said, the other is unknown.

Blood from the children was also found on the blade.

No blood or DNA from the children was found on more than two dozen items police confiscated, including the clothes, sneakers and sunglasses he was seen wearing on surveillance video, O’Connor said.

Judge Vincent Del Giudice released the transcript from a 15-minute closed-door hearing Monday during which St. Hubert professed his innocence and claimed he was being set up.
