Aidala (photo) suspects some of Sunday’s dinner conversation will be about Rivera’s memoir “The Geraldo Show,” which comes out Tuesday with a launch party at Del Frisco’s Restaurant in Midtown. The two had a chance to talk about the tome earlier in the week while lunching at the Friars Club.
“We were talking a little about his legacy and how he really cherishes the war coverage,” Aidala told us, referring to Rivera’s controversial reporting from Iraq and Afghanistan. That coverage produced mixed results.
In 2001, Rivera gave a dramatic on-air soliloquy from Afghanistan, remembering three soldiers he said died in battle right where he was standing. Rivera was actually 300 miles away from where the battle he was talking about actually occurred. In 2003 in Iraq,
