Peeps inspire art

-

People have used the marshmallow bunnies and chicks in a number of colorful crafts, like impressive dioramas that highlight pop culture and historical events. Cities and towns across the country hold annual Peeps diorama contests every spring. One “Game of Thrones”-themed entry in the 2017 Carroll County (Maryland) diorama contest was a dragon made with 6,000 Peeps. And another contest once had an entry that featured Peeps as the celebrity judges on NBC’s “The Voice” (below). From over-the-top Peep milkshakes to Oreo Peeps and Peeps Milk, there are lots of ways to eat Peeps besides the classics. During Easter weekend this year, Black Tap Craft Burgers & Beer locations (blacktapnyc.com) in New York and Las Vegas will be selling The Peeps Shake for $17. It’s a cherry shake with a vanilla frosted rim loaded with pastel-colored M&Ms topped with three yellow chick Peeps, whipped cream, Easter sprinkles and a cherry.
