U.S. couple found dead in Venice
A MARRIED American couple was found dead Monday in an apparent murder-suicide in Venice, according to reports.
Cops found the woman, 44, dead in a bed and her husband, 48, in the bathroom, according to local Italian media.
The husband appeared to have killed his wife before slitting his throat with a knife, reports say.
The couple served as soldiers in Venice’s U.S. military base, Caserma Ederle, but had been discharged, Italian media reported. The victims’ names have not been released.
A base chaplain alerted police of the bodies, according to Stars and Stripes.
The chaplain described the husband as being depressed and not returning his phone calls.
