Jets’ Anderson sees felony charge dropped
ROBBY Anderson got some good news in the wake of his embarrassing arrest in January that prompted nine charges from Florida police.
The felony charge of threatening harm to a public servant or family has been dropped, according to WINZ. According to the police report, the Jets wide receiver threatened to sexual assault the arresting officer’s wife after he was nabbed for driving 105 mph in a 45 mph zone.
Anderson “stated that when he got out he was going to find (the officer’s) wife, f--k her and n-t in her eye,” the report said. Anderson, who has pending legal issues tied to a May 2017 arrest, is scheduled to appear in court for this latest transgression this summer.
He still faces misdemeanor charges of reckless driving. The Daily News reported shortly after the January arrest that the Jets did not plan on cutting the mercurial wideout barring further transgressions.
“Any time you have trouble with the law, obviously, you’re disappointed,” Todd Bowles said at the Scouting Combine in February. “These things happen. It’s a legal matter right now, so we’re going to wait to see how everything plays out.” — Manish Mehta
