Nixon: I’d make pot legal in N.Y.

ALBANY — Actress Cynthia Nixon says she “absolutely” would legalize — and tax — marijuana if she is elected governor.

“Let’s capture some of that revenue,” Nixon said on an episode of the “Wendy Williams Show” that aired Wednesday.

Gov. Cuomo has opposed the legalization of marijuana, though he ordered a state Health Department study on the issue this year.

Nixon, 51, also said that given the recent rash of shootings nationally, New York missed out on a “real watershed moment” to enact new gun control measures as part of the recently passed state budget. She conceded the state has “good gun laws” but said it could do more, like banning bump-stock devices that allow guns to shoot bullets more quickly.

Cuomo, 60, on Wednesday sent an email to supporters highlighting that the new budget includes legislation requiring all convicted domestic abusers to surrender all their firearms.

Best known for playing Miranda Hobbes on “Sex and the City,” Nixon said she and Hobbes are a lot alike.

“She’s a hard worker like me,” she said of the character.
