Kimmel culpa in Hannity spat
JIMMY KIMMEL is sorry for his bitter war of words with Fox News host Sean Hannity.
The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” host issued a statement Sunday apologizing for the he-said, hesaid between the two TV personalities, and admitted that he’d taken time to reflect after the argument erupted Friday over Kimmel’s jokes about First Lady Melania Trump’s accent.
“While I admit I did have fun with our back and forth, after some thought, I realize that the level of vitriol from all sides (mine and me included) does nothing good for anyone and, in fact, is harmful to our country,” he wrote.
The comedian said his wife and infant son Billy had received death wishes from angry fans, prompting the comedian to pause and reflect on his own words.
Kimmel, 50, was apologizing specifically for a tweet in which he joked about Hannity about having sex with Trump.
“Don’t worry — just keep tweeting — you’ll get back on top! (or does Trump prefer you on bottom?),” he wrote Friday.
The comedian wrapped up his statement by expressing hope that Hannity would undergo the same amount of reflection he had.
