Medic held in sex attack on patient en route to hospital

AN FDNY PARAMEDIC was busted on sex charges in the Bronx after allegedly groping a patient in his ambulance, touching her face with his penis and trying to get her to perform oral sex, police sources said Monday.

Karel Delgado, 36, was charged Monday with criminal sex act, sex abuse and forcible touching.

He allegedly victimized a 43-year-old woman during a ride from her Bronx home to Montefiore Medical Center.

The woman had called 911 just before noon Sunday because she was sick. While in the ambulance, Delgado allegedly assaulted her.

“He said, ‘Can I examine you,’ and she said, ‘Sure,’ ” a police source said. “But then he grabbed her private parts. He also took out his penis and touched her face with it. When she got to the hospital, she reported it.”

One neighbor, who lives next door to Delgado in Co-op City, shook his head in disbelief at the allegations.

“I don’t believe it. That’s not him. I don’t believe he would do something like that,” the neighbor said.

“He has a little girl. She’s well taken care of. I hope it’s not a real accusation. He’s a nice guy. This is the first I hear of it.”

Delgado was arraigned Monday in Bronx Criminal Court, where his bail was set at $10,000.
