Hoops oops – NBAer gets car rap no-jail-deal

- Marco Poggio and Shayna Jacobs

FORMER CHICAGO Bulls shooting guard Ben Gordon has better luck in criminal court than he did on the basketball court.

The Mount Vernon, Westchester County-raised baller bounced back from last year’s arrest on a misdemeanor charge of driving with a phony license plate with a no-jail deal on Monday.

Gordon, 35, was stopped in November at W. 129th St. and Frederick Douglass Blvd. in Harlem with fake Florida plates on his Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV.

The judge ordered him to do 10 days of community service, and his case will be dismissed and sealed after six months.

Gordon had three run-ins with police in 2017 — in Westchester, Harlem and Los Angeles. He was ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment after a woman called police when he locked them both inside his Mount Vernon business.

Gordon stopped playing ball in 2015 after years of bouncing around the NBA. He’s hoping to return some day.

“This dismissal allows Mr. Gordon to move on with his life and career,” his lawyer Alex Spiro said.
