Odell has last word with post
ODELL Beckham Jr. reported to day two of Giants offseason workouts on Tuesday in East Rutherford, according to a source, so Monday’s appearance wasn’t just a meaningless cameo.
And Beckham’s presence at the facility has to be considered the biggest news of the day, bigger even than his widely-reported social media response to Ray Lewis — especially since Beckham’s Instagram post actually didn’t read much like a dig back at Lewis at all.
The videos Beckham posted on Monday night actually were taken on Sunday, well before Lewis had attacked his character on FS1’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” by saying: “Odell has removed God from his life.”
For on Sunday, Beckham did not fly direct from Los Angeles to the New York/New Jersey area; he made a pitstop first in Texas to visit his great-grandmother for her 95th birthday.
Beckham, his great-grandmother, family friends are seen praying together in the videos.
The post certainly disproves Lewis’ accusation that Beckham has spurned God, but it didn’t come off as a direct shot back at Lewis.
OBJ typically doesn’t leave room for interpretation when he wants to smack something down.
“The foundation was installed at birth… we will survive and prevail… ALWAYS. God willing…,” Beckham posted beneath the videos.
This was a man focused on his family on Sunday, not anticipating a Lewis attack from Monday afternoon. and
