Bill, you can ‘stand’ down

- Andrew Keshner

MAYOR DE BLASIO won’t be called to testify in an ongoing Long Island corruption trial, one defense lawyer said Wednesday.

Marc Agnifilo decided he doesn’t need the mayor on the stand to fight charges that his client, ex-Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, was on the take from de Blasio donor Harendra Singh.

The former Queens restaurateur is the prosecution’s star witness against Venditto, ex-Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano and Mangano’s wife in the sprawling pay-for-play trial in Central Islip Federal Court.

Singh had earlier testified de Blasio took a look-the-other-way approach when he brought up the subject of illegal contributions.
