Now he’s not so hot to blast Syria
PRESIDENT TRUMP went from announcing air strikes on Twitter to carefully considering his options on Thursday as he mulls over how the U.S. will respond to chemical attacks in Syria.
Trump backpedaled from his threats a day earlier that a missile launch was imminent and admitted officials are still weighing options.
“We’re looking very, very seriously, very closely, at that whole situation,” the President said during a meeting with farm state lawmakers. “We have to make some further decisions. So they’ll be made fairly soon.”
Secretary of Defense James Mattis told lawmakers, “We have not yet made any decision to launch military attacks into Syria.”
Military leaders are considering striking eight possible targets, including two Syrian airfields, a research center and a chemical weapons facility, CNBC reported.
