Daily News ad supervisor dies
ROBERT ORLANDO, a fixture at the Daily News for more than 40 years, has died. He was 65.
The Brooklyn-born Orlando struggled with a variety of health issues before dying last Sunday at a nursing home, according to family members.
He joined The News while a young man, starting in the promotions department and working his way up to advertising production supervisor. Orlando left the Daily News in 2008.
His funeral was set for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Brooklyn. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery in Middle Village, Queens.
Orlando was predeceased by his wife Joann, sister Ann Norris and niece Linda. He is survived by his nieces Rose and Angela, along with nephews Wayne, Scott and Christopher.
