Lesson from a First Family – put family first

-

Ihave an uncle who’s 96. He’ll be 97 on Veterans Day, which is only fitting because he fought in World War II. That his mother, my grandmother, named him after one of the worst Presidents in history is something that his family and friends don’t hold against him. From the coal mines of West Virginia to the fields of North Carolina, Warren Gamaliel Harding Brown has put his own stamp on the world, and has produced a ton of joy. My mother’s brother lives alone, cooks his own meals and drives a new car he just bought last year. He was fussing the other day because the wind blew a bunch of pollen on the roof and hood after he spent two hours washing and waxing the car by hand. He wants to upgrade to a smartphone so he can use the GPS.
