A case of like Oddfather, like Oddson
THE SON OF late mob boss Vincent (Chin) Gigante inherited his father’s perverse fashion sense: nightclothes in the daytime.
Vincent Esposito, 50, answered the door of his mom’s Upper East Side townhouse in a Tshirt and pajama bottoms Thursday afternoon when the Daily News knocked to ask about his release on $9.8 million bond.
“No comment, no thank you,” said Esposito, freed April 10 after three months in federal lockup. “Please don’t come back here.”
Esposito, the love child named for the former Genovese family leader, backed the bond with $1 million cash and his mom’s multimillion dollar E. 77th St. home, the News has learned.
Esposito’s blue-and-white print PJ pants were reminiscent of his dad’s penchant for pajamas and a bathrobe as the Chin wandered Greenwich Village feigning insanity to avoid arrest.
Esposito was jailed immediately after his January arrest on charges linked to a long-running Mafia shakedown of local unions. He pleaded not guilty.
Esposito was “obviously thrilled to be out” after his stay in the Metropolitan Correctional Center, said his attorney, Jeffrey Lichtman.
