SAM High Times, Earth Day, Yanks and demos headline the traffic news this weekend.

April 20, aka 420, has become a counter-culture day with millions of Americans taking tea time (aka marijuana) at 4:20 Friday afternoon. How is this a traffic problem you ask? A recent JAMA Medicine study found that fatal crashes go up by 12 percent on April 20, and by 38 percent for people under 21. Washington Square Park will be the epi-center on Friday so please drive extra carefully on the surrounding streets. There will also be an anti-gun rally assembling in the park from noon to 2 p.m.

The Yanks play the Blue Jays tonight at 7 p.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, slowing down traffic, especially tonight’s rush hour.

NYers will celebrate Earth Day eve on Saturday with the closure of Broadway from Times Square to Union Square from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. St. Nicholas Ave. from 181st to 190th Sts. will also be closed at the same time. The northbound side of Broadway will be closed between 110th and 116th Sts. on Saturday between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. for a street fair, the same times Sixth Ave. is closed between 23rd The Sun has arrived in Taurus, and you can take a deep breath. The symbol for this degree of the zodiac is “A Clear Mountain Stream.” That would be you. Imagine yourself as a vast, outdoor space, made of forests, trees and rivers. Then consider that, on a deeper level, you’re the ground beneath all of these things. You embody the Earth herself. You share a birthday with Carrie Mae Weems, Andy Serkis and Killer Mike. MARCH 21-APRIL 19 The planetary setup is perfect for you to have a kind of selfesteem breakthrough. This may come through some challenge, a little crisis, a test of your integrity — or an awakening. This is about more than feeling good about yourself. I’m talking about trusting yourself. APRIL 20-MAY 20 You are a resource for the world. Yes — you, personally. You’re here to be of service, wherever you possibly can. You have plenty to offer, and there is a reason why nature bestowed you with such beautiful gifts, including your mind and your creativity. Remember: Ideas increase by being given away. MAY 21-JUNE 20 You play a special role in your community. This carries unique responsibilities, and the requirement that you be willing to stand out and be different. Not just any different, but rather the kind that you already are. That will influence your environment in unexpected ways. JUNE 21-JULY 22 You are aware of things that other people are not. No matter how they act or what they claim to know, you can perceive into a level of reality that will provide much insight if you relax and tune in. How you put things into words is another matter entirely; you must choose carefully. JULY 23-AUG. 22 How you speak to yourself matters. It may be the only thing that matters. You will reveal your state of mind, and also find the leverage to change it, if you listen to your inner voice. It may seem like this is a thing speaking to you; though the truth is, it’s about you describing your existence. AUG. 23-SEPT. 22 Much of your life is a study in the mystery of where you end and everyone else begins. You’ve been working on that one a lot lately, through various efforts to resolve misunderstandings and boundary disputes. Yet you’re in a great place to make a discovery and see all of this in a new light. SEPT. 23-OCT. 22 Keep in mind that you can communicate with anyone, in terms that you both understand. Start first in your own life, treating all of your relationships with extra confidence — like you’re in a foreign country but are fluent in the language, so you know you can negotiate anything. OCT. 23-NOV. 21 People are more generous with you than you realize. Yet you would only notice if you accept the gifts they are offering. And to do that, you will have to notice what they are. Receiving is a sensitive and vulnerable place, which is why so few people do it; yet this need not be. NOV. 22-DEC. 21 Creativity is driven by curiosity. If you want to be more creative, then allow yourself to be more inquisitive. Ask questions, figure out how things are done, go places you wonder about, take things apart, get the backstory and dig deeper. Before long, you will be a creative fountain. DEC. 22-JAN. 19 Do you think of yourself as uptight? Why or why not? On what scale are you measuring? Anyway, you will figure it out when you relax and allow your energy to flow. If you feel fear even at the thought of that, take a step back, take a deep breath, relax and try again. And again. JAN. 20-FEB. 18 You may feel pressure building inside yourself, and it will be up to you to vent your energy. This is a wholly internal experience; not the product of your environment, or the choices of others. It may have seemed that way at other times; though right now, you’ve got the ball, and only you. FEB. 19-MARCH 20 Over the next few days, a situation may come to a head, and you will need to keep your cool. I will keep reminding you day by day, as Mars makes a conjunction to Pluto in your 11th house. This is about you claiming something, completing something, and beginning something.
