NYU HIRES HOOPS COACH

Dagan Nelson has been hired as basketball coach at New York University, replacing the retiring Joe Nesci. Nelson has more than 20 years of coaching experience at the high school and collegiate levels, including a stint as an assistant with the Violets from 2000-02. He was head coach at SUNY New Paltz from 2007-11, his only time leading a college program.

l Seton Hall has hired Tony Skinn as an assistant basketball coach. Skinn replaces Shaheen Holloway, who left to become the head coach at nearby St. Peter’s University.
