SHE’S WITH THE BAND

-

“Sopranos” actress Maureen Van Zandt will be featured in this year’s Asbury Park Music & Film Festival on a panel discussing Women in Entertainment. The 66-year-old actress played Gabriella Dante, married to Sylvio Dante who just happened to be played by her real life husband, Bruce Springsteen sidekick Steven Van

Zandt (both above). Maureen told Confidential that she hasn’t watched one episode of the seminal series since it went off the air in 2007 and she still mourns the sudden loss of the show’s star James Gandolfini.

“It’s very sad. It took me a long time to see any films that he’s been in,” she said. “That was such a shocking loss and he was such a good friend, an incredible person. It’s tough. I don’t think any of us have gotten over it.”

And as for the show’s celebrated black-screen ending, Maureen doesn’t think anything sinister happened as many fans surmised.

“I think it was just that life goes on,” she explained. “I didn’t think they got killed. I didn’t think anything changed.”

Maureen’s panel happens on April 28, and the fest also features a special evening with native son Danny De Vito.
